Shared lists in Claude

Ask for a shopping list, a packing list or a potluck sign-up sheet, and get back a link. Send it to anyone — they open it in a browser and can edit it straight away, with no account and no assistant of their own.

What you can ask for

• “Make me a shared grocery list with milk, eggs and coffee, and give me the link.”
• “Add what we've run out of, and check off what I already picked up.”
• “Which anonylist lists do I have, and what's on the camping one?”
• “Set up a potluck sign-up sheet with slots for a main, two sides and a dessert.”
• “Add ‘pick up the cake’ for 2pm on Saturday, and give me a calendar feed to subscribe to.”

Add it to Claude by hand

Roughly a minute, and you only do it once. Works in Claude, Cowork and Claude Desktop.

1. Open your connectors. In Claude, go to Customize → Connectors, press +, then choose Add custom connector.

   On a Team or Enterprise plan this is an Owner's job: they add it under Organization settings → Connectors → Add, hovering Custom and picking Web. Everyone else then connects to it from Customize → Connectors.

2. Paste the server URL — including the /mcp at the end — and press Add. Leave the Advanced OAuth settings alone; anonylist registers itself.

3. Sign in. You'll be asked to connect an anonylist account — sign in with Google, or with an email and password if you have one. This is the only account involved anywhere: the people you share lists with still need nothing.
4. Choose what it may do. Reading and writing are ticked for you. Deleting is offered switched off — leave it that way unless you want it, and change your mind later on your account page.
5. Turn it on in a chat. Press + at the bottom left of the conversation, choose Connectors, and enable anonylist. Then ask for a list.

On a free Claude account you can have one custom connector at a time, so this would be it.

What's free, and what isn't

Making a list, renaming it, adding items and checking them off are free. Sections, notes, sign-up sheets, dates and deleting rows come with anonylist Pro — $10 a year. Reach for one without it and the connector says so plainly rather than quietly doing something else.

What it deliberately won't do

• It can't reorder rows, set a password, or claim a custom address. Those stay in your hands, in the app.
• It can't delete anything unless you allow it, and there's no tool that empties a list — deletion takes explicit rows, twenty at a time at most.
• It can only reach lists you point it at. A list's URL is the only key there is.

Questions

Which Claude plans can add a custom connector?

Custom connectors work on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, in Claude, Cowork and Claude Desktop. Free accounts are limited to one custom connector at a time. On Team and Enterprise only an Owner can add one, after which members connect to it themselves.

Is this an official Claude connector?

Not yet. It's a custom connector you add by URL, which is a supported feature of Claude rather than a directory listing. A listed version is on the way and will remove the setup steps.

Do the people I share a list with need Claude?

No. They open an ordinary web link on any phone or computer and can add items and tick things off straight away, with no account, no app and no assistant of their own.

Can Claude delete rows from my list?

Only if you allow it. The permission screen offers deletion switched off, and you can turn it on or back off at any time from your anonylist account page. There's no tool that empties a whole list.
